Chapter History
2006-2007 Recap

The 2006-2007 year was a very eventful year for our chapter. In August 2006, we held the inaugural meeting for our Tallahassee section with 46 people in attendance. Another meeting was held in Tallahassee in January and we are working toward Tallahassee becoming a chapter in the near future. We also conducted two meetings in Gainesville that are always well attended by our Student Chapter from the University of Florida, who placed second in the International Design Competition.

The highlight of the 2006-2007 year was our President’s Ball where we celebrated our chapter’s 50th anniversary. ASHRAE Society President Terry Townsend was our special guest, and presented a 50th anniversary certificate to Chapter President Stew Sedgwick.

The year ended with as much fanfare as it began. Our Spring golf outing generated tremendous support for Research Promotion. Our last chapter meeting featured incoming Society President Kent Peterson as our guest speaker and Kent also inducted our new chapter officers for 2007-2008.

As always, our chapter’s success was the result of the tremendous support from our volunteers and corporate sponsors.
