David Boree, as a Jacksonville native, knows first-hand the importance of the principles embraced by ASHRAE. A 1980 graduate of the University of Florida, David left Florida to accept a position with a firm in Ft. Worth, Texas where he worked for a little over 1-1/2 years. In 1982, he returned to Jacksonville as an employee of W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractors. David started there as a Project Engineer and within 5 years, at the age of 29, had risen to the position of Executive Vice President with one of the largest and most well-respected mechanical contracting firms in the Southeastern United States. In 1997, he assumed his current title as President of the company.

David has excelled throughout his professional career. A licensed professional engineer in two states, he is also licensed in the State of Florida as a Mechanical and Plumbing Contractor. In addition, David is NEBB Test and Balance qualified for Water and Air Balancing, Vibration and Sound Analysis and System Commissioning. He has worked on many diverse projects, from Hospitals, to Office Buildings, to Athletic Complexes.

David has been active in ASHRAE since he was a student at the University of Florida. While active in the chapter, David was honored by the Florida Engineering Society as the State of Florida Young Engineer of the Year in 1991.

While maintaining his extremely active professional career, David has managed to give back to his community as well. He is an active member of the University of Florida Mechanical Engineering Department Advisory Board, serves on the Board of Directors for the PACE Center for Girls, and is a member of the University Council for Jacksonville University.

David Boree has used his considerable talents for the betterment of our industry and community and has been a role model to many. His strong leadership of the Jacksonville Chapter of ASHRAE has served as an example to current and future chapter officers of what an impact one person can make.
